Ansermet conducts: Rossini – Respighi La Boutique Fantasque (London Symphony Orchestra) and Stravinsky Petrushka (Suisse Romande Orchestra). Ansermet had the remarkable ability to balance an orchestra in the studio without help from the engineers and the quality of sound that Ansermet himself created lends such individuality to these works.

“As remastered on SOMM’s disc, Ansermet’s LSO La boutique fantasque comes up fresh as paint, with a startlingly lifelike acoustic and Petrushka receives a most compelling and poetic performance from Ansermet and his Orchestre de la Suiss Romande.” International Record Collector
